ServicesMeet Tanya!
Hey yall! I'm Tanya Barrett, founder of Harmony Health with Tanya. I'm a certified family nurse practitioner who is passionate about holistic wellness and whole-person care.
For years, I worked on the front lines in conventional medicine, caring for many from the beginning of life behind the decorated doors on the labor and delivery floor, to the end of life within the clear sliding doors of the ICU. While I value my experience and it has made me the nurse I am today, I often felt the system left patients and families without the time, answers, or support they truly needed.
That's why I created Harmony Health with Tanya. Here, I take a different approach - one that prioritizes listening, digging deeper, and treating the whole person, not just your symptoms. Delivering care through the functional medicine lens, I believe in longer visits, personalized proactive care, and uncovering the root cause behind your health concerns so you can finally feel heard, be supported, and get back to living the life you were made for.
I am grateful you are here, and I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey back to balanced health.

How It All Started
My journey through nursing - though longer than I sometimes like to admit - has been a rewarding path with each chapter unfolding right on time. It all began in a high school health occupations class in my little hometown of Madison, Georgia (which isn't so little anymore). There, I learned the basics of human anatomy, was introduced to the nursing process and became a certified nursing assistant which paved the way to many more nursing roles I would fill.
Over the course of the next 20 years I completed two different nursing programs earning my associates degree and LPN license before going on to obtain my bachelor's degree in nursing and becoming a registered nurse. I went on to work in a variety of settings: urgent care, med-surg, pediatrics, vein care, antepartum and postpartum, surgery, and intensive care. Each role gave me a deeper appreciation for the resilience of the human body and the privilege it is to care for patients in their most critical moments. It also reinforced something I had always believed-that human touch and genuine compassion can heal in ways medicine alone cannot.
No matter where I worked, I couldn't escape the same frustration: rushed care, patients leaving with unanswered questions and a system focused on managing symptoms and not enough conversation about prevention. I couldn't shake the question: how else could I have helped them?
But Then Everything Changed...
This burning question of what better way can I help? - was the catalyst for my next chapter: becoming a nurse practitioner. I believed that by combining the heart of nursing with the ability to guide as a provider, I would finally be able to address patients' needs. But even then, I was still caught in the webs of documentation requirements and time-restricted visits. The cycle hadn't changed, only my place in it.
It wasn't until I moved to Utah that I found the path I had been searching for. Functional medicine opened the door to practice the way I had always envisioned-listening fully, digging deeper, and helping patients restore health by uncovering the root causes of imbalance.
Now I'm Able To...
Functional medicine has given me the framework I had been searching for. It connects the dots between hormones, gut health, metabolism, nutrition, stress, and mindset- all the pieces of health that conventional care so often overlooks. I've come to see how every system in the body works in harmony (as it was divinely designed to), and when one part is out of balance, it affects the whole person.
Today, through Harmony Health with Tanya, I'm able to help men and women move beyond symptom management and finally uncover the root cause roadblocks preventing them from obtaining optimal health. By using The Harmony Method and walking through my six core pillars of health, together we rebalance the body and create sustainable solutions that support whole-body wellness.
This is the kind of care I always dreamed of giving - and the kind of care everyone deserves.

Girls can race too!
I seriously considered being a race car driver and still would to this day. 🏁

No snakes here.
Literally terrified of them and of course my son wants one for a pet. No thanks, I'm good. 🐍

Up for a run?
For someone that hated running the mile in middle school, I now enjoy 5Ks on the regular. 🙂
